Web Design for Reputation-Driven Bundaberg Businesses

I design custom websites for Bundaberg businesses that need to earn trust locally and stand up to word-of-mouth scrutiny.

If you’re running a business in Bundaberg, you already know that standing out in a regional market takes more than just showing up. Your website needs to work harder than a Brisbane business’s site because you’re competing in a tighter local market where everyone knows everyone, and word of mouth still matters more than ad spend.

I’m Lawrence, and I’ve been designing websites for over two decades. I spent three years living in Bundaberg, which gave me a solid understanding of how regional Queensland businesses operate and what they actually need from a website. These days I work remotely with Bundaberg restaurants, agricultural businesses, professional services, tourism operators, and local trades who want websites that bring in customers instead of just existing because someone said they needed one.

Some of my recent work

Why Bundaberg Businesses Need Better Websites

Bundaberg’s business landscape is different from the big cities — and even from larger regional centres like Hervey Bay. You’re not competing against hundreds of faceless competitors – you’re up against maybe three or four other businesses that locals actually know and trust. Which means your website isn’t just competing on features or price; it’s backing up (or undermining) your local reputation.

When someone searches for what you do in Bundaberg, they’re usually ready to make a decision. They’re not browsing for ideas – they’re looking for the right business to call today. If your website looks outdated, loads slowly, or reads like a corporate brochure from 2010, you’ve just lost that customer to whoever actually invested in their online presence.

I build websites that position you as the obvious choice, not just another option. Custom design that reflects your actual business, not some template designed for a generic company in a generic location doing generic things.

Who this works for

I work with Bundaberg businesses that understand their website is an investment, not an expense to minimize. Agricultural businesses that want to be seen as industry leaders. Restaurants and cafes that put thought into their offering. Professional services – accountants, lawyers, medical practices – who want to communicate expertise before someone picks up the phone.

Tourism operators showcasing what makes Bundaberg and the surrounding region worth visiting. Trades and local services who want to be the first call when someone needs work done. Retail businesses that need their online presence to match their in-store experience.

If you’re hunting for the absolute cheapest website possible or you think a DIY platform is “good enough”, we’re probably not the right fit. But if you want something that properly represents your business and brings in customers, let’s have a conversation.

Investment and Pricing

I quote projects upfront based on scope. That number doesn’t change unless you decide halfway through that you want something different. I’m not interested in hourly billing or scope creep – you know what you’re paying before we start. Get in touch for a personalised quote.

What you're getting

How it works

We start with a conversation about what you actually need from your website – not a formal brief or questionnaire, just a chat about your business and what you’re trying to achieve. Then I design it in Figma so you can see exactly what you’re getting before anything’s built. Once you’re happy with the design, I develop it in WordPress and write the copy that doesn’t sound like every other website in your industry. Most projects take 4-6 weeks from that first conversation to launch.

After your site goes live, I don’t vanish. I’ll show you how to handle basic updates yourself, and I’m available if something breaks, you want to add features, or you just need someone to explain why your booking form isn’t working. Simple as that.

Working Remotely With Bundaberg Businesses

I’m based on the Sunshine Coast but work with distant clients regularly. Everything happens remotely – Zoom calls, Figma sharing, Slack or email for questions. You get direct access to me throughout the project, just without the need to schedule office meetings or site visits.

Some clients prefer never meeting face-to-face. Others want an initial video call to put a face to the name. Whatever works for you works for me.

What some of my clients have said...

We recently had a new web site built by Lawrence and found the process to be very smooth and efficient. It was pleasant to deal with someone who had a very good understanding of what we wanted and he did an excellent job in a very timely manner. All in all, a pleasant experience from beginning to end. Thank you Lawrence.

Lawrie undertook a complete website redesign for us introducing new graphics and logo design. The result was a massive step forward from what we had before and the process of working with Lawrie was straight forward and always positive.
Struggled for weeks to find someone that seemed to have the aesthetic sensibilities to design our website and eventually found Lawrie. Couldn’t be happier: a designer who communicates perfectly, is not precious about their ideas and basically just ‘gets it’. Also responsive, well-priced and gets the job done. Thanks heaps Lawrie.

Frequently Asked Questions

That’s the point of custom development. If you’re a tour operator who needs tide tables, or a restaurant that needs dietary filter options, or a medical practice with online intake forms – I’ll build it. I’m not limited to what a template offers.

Both. Plenty of established Bundaberg businesses come to me because their current site isn’t cutting it anymore – it’s outdated, slow, doesn’t work on phones, or just doesn’t represent them properly. Whether you’re launching something new or replacing a site that’s been limping along for five years, I can help.

I’m still around. Most clients set up ongoing maintenance ($120/month) which covers updates, backups, security, and fixes if something goes wrong. If you prefer handling it yourself and only calling when needed, that works too – I don’t disappear the minute the final invoice is paid.

Yeah. I write all the copy as part of the project anyway – that’s included. For photos, I can work with what you’ve got, guide you on what to shoot yourself, or arrange professional photography if your industry needs it (hospitality and tourism usually do). We’ll sort out what makes sense for your situation.

That’s fine. Most people know their current site isn’t working but aren’t sure what would work better. That’s what our initial conversation is for – I’ll ask questions about your business, your customers, and what you’re trying to achieve, then recommend what makes sense based on that.

You can handle basic updates – changing text, swapping photos, updating menus or prices. I’ll show you how during training. For bigger changes or technical stuff, I’m available either through ongoing maintenance or as-needed. Most clients do a bit of both.

Ready to Build Something That Actually Works?

Tell me about your Bundaberg business and what you’re after from a new website. If you’ve got a current site, send me the link so I can see what we’re working with. I’ll have a look and let you know honestly whether I reckon we’re a good fit.

No obligation, no sales scripts, no pressure. Just a straightforward conversation about what’s possible and whether it makes sense for us to work together.
